Nest Box Support Suffolk

Introducing Nest Box Support Suffolk

Suffolk Bird Group have received a generous grant from The Suffolk and Essex Coasts and Heaths National Landscape Community and Conservation Fund to help raise awareness of migrant woodland and waterside bird species and to install nest boxes to provide spaces for them to breed.

SBG will be producing leaflets explaining the perils of disturbance for car park dispensers and using the funds to purchase materials for nest boxes. We will be targeting Redstarts, Spotted Flycatchers and Grey Wagtails with ace nest box volunteer John Turner making the nest boxes.

Redstart nest boxes will be for the heaths and adjacent woodlands. Spotted Flycatchers for woodland, churchyards, parks and river and lakeside locations whilst Grey Wagtail nest boxes need to be on riverside locations.

HELP NEEDED

SBG need your help with both identifying suitable locations where nest boxes would be great and to install them. If you yourself, or a local wildlife group in or adjacent to the Coasts & Heaths NL boundary would like nest boxes to install then please do get in touch. We can distribute nest boxes for you to install in suitable locations.
