December 25th

Trimley Marsh: 65+ Greater White-fronted Geese and four Tundra Bean Geese from the viewing platform.

Mildenhall: the Yellow-browed Warbler still present.

 

December 24th

Kessingland: 60+ Snow Buntings present on North Beach.

Benacre: Scaup on the Broad shoreline.

Aldeburgh Marsh: a Short-eared Owl and the Great Northern Diver on the river.

Gedgrave: five Tundra Bean Geese again on Chantry Marshes.

Tangham Forest: two Ravens over.

Martlesham: Garganey around the boatyard at the Creek.

Lackford Lakes: a male FERRUGINOUS DUCK on the sailing lake.

December 23rd

Kessingland: four Shore Larks and Snow Buntings present on the beach.

Covehithe: 26 Snow Buntings south past the Broad.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

Gedgrave: five Tundra Bean Geese again in field towards Richmond Farm.

Woodbridge: two Cattle Egrets again on Kingston Marsh.

Martlesham: LESSER YELLOWLEGS reported at Martlesham Creek.

December 22nd

Kessingland: four Shore Larks and 122 Snow Buntings present on the beach near the shore pools.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

Gedgrave: five Tundra Bean Geese again in field towards Richmond Farm.

Alton Water: two Scaup again viewable from Tattingstone Wonder.

Erwarton: the HOOPOE again in the village.

Mildenhall: the Yellow-browed Warbler still present.

December 21st

Kessingland: four Shore Larks and 40 Snow Buntings present on the beach.

Walberswick: at least one FAN-TAILED WARBLER still present south of the beach huts.

Woodbridge: two Cattle Egrets again on Kingston Marsh.

Ipswich: two Ring-necked Parakeets in Christchurch Park.

Stour Estuary: a Black-throated Diver and two Great Northern Divers off Stutton Ness.

 

December 20th

Kessingland: four Shore Larks and 116 Snow Buntings present on the beach.

Benacre: two Tundra Bean Geese at the west end of the Broad.

Walberswick: at least one FAN-TAILED WARBLER still present south of the beach huts.

Orfordness: Merlin perched on a bridge, 3/4 mile north of Orford.

Gedgrave: five Tundra Bean Geese again present on Chantry Marsh between sewage works and Richmond Farm.

Hollesley Marsh: Cattle Egret.

Bawdsey: Purple Sandpiper at East Lane.

Woodbridge: two Cattle Egrets again on Kingston Marsh.

Landguard: Purple Sandpiper on the Point.

Alton Water: two Scaup viewable from Tattingstone Wonder.

Stour Estuary: two Black-necked Grebes off Stutton Ness.

Lackford Lakes: the GREEN-WINGED TEAL again on the Slough.

Mildenhall: the Yellow-browed Warbler still present.

 

December 19th

Kessingland: 4+ Shore Larks and c.100 Snow Buntings present on the beach.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape, an adult Caspian Gull and a third-winter Yellow-legged Gull.

Eastbridge: a ringtail Hen Harrier flew over, east towards the South Levels.

Alton Water: two Scaup viewable from Tattingstone Wonder.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

December 17th

Kessingland: one Shore Lark and c.80 Snow Buntings present on the beach by the shorepools.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: 84 Greater White-fronted Geese.

 

December 16th

Kessingland: four Shore Larks and 100 Snow Buntings present on the beach.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

Landguard: Purple Sandpiper on the Point.

Stour Estuary: two Black-necked Grebes off Mistley Quay, a Great Northern Diver at Stutton Ness and a Black-throated Diver in Holbrook Bay.

 

December 15th

Carlton Marsh: 49 Cattle Egrets roosted on the reserve.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

Slaughden: a Razorbill on the sea.

Aldeburgh Marsh: 96 Greater White-fronted Geese and the Great Northern Diver on the River Alde.

Boyton Marsh: 20+ Greater White-fronted Geese.

Landguard: a juvenile Long-tailed Duck flew north.

Stutton Ness: a Great Northern Diver.

Mildenhall: c.100 Whooper Swans west of the A1101 on Mildenhall Fen.

December 14th

Carlton Marsh: three flocks of Cattle Egrets, totalling 47, roosted on the reserve.

Kessingland: five Shore Larks on the beach.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: a juvenile Hen Harrier.

Hollesley Marsh: five Tundra Bean Geese seen from the viewing platform.

Chelmondiston: the HOOPOE in a front garden.

December 13th

Lowestoft: a first-winter Caspian Gull on the Bird's Eye roof at Ness Point and13 Purple Sandpipers on rocks along North Beach.

Kessingland: five Shore Larks and 140+ Snow Buntings present on the beach.

Walberswick: three FAN-TAILED WARBLERS still present south of the beach huts.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on the Scrape and a Short-eared Owl towards Sizewell. Two Firecrests at the entrance to the Rhododendron tunnel.

Aldeburgh Marsh: the Great Northern Diver on the River Alde.

Gedgrave: five Tundra Bean Geese again present.

Boyton Marsh: Cattle Egret.

Landguard: two Snow Buntings at the Point.

Erwarton: a HOOPOE in a front garden in the village.

Raydon: a Dartford Warbler at the disused airfield.

​December 12th

Lowestoft: three Purple Sandpipers at Ness Point.

Kessingland: five Shore Larks and 80+ Snow Buntings present on the beach, and two Bean Geese flying south.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on the Scrape.

Aldeburgh: a juvenile Great Northern Diver at the Old Brick Dock and 87 Greater White-fronted Geese at Aldeburgh Marsh.

Gedgrave: five Tundra Bean Geese in with large goose flock.

Hollesley Marsh: two Cattle Egrets still.

Landguard: two Snow Buntings at the Point.

Holbrook: a Great Northern Diver at Holbrook Bay.

Stutton Ness: a Great Northern Diver, a Black-throated Diver and two Black-necked Grebes.

Flatford: three Greater White-fronted Geese and a Ruddy Shelduck between here and Dedham.

December 11th

Kessingland: 14 Shore Larks and 116 Snow Buntings present on the beach.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on the Scrape, a Goosander and at least two Water Pipits.

Aldeburgh: a juvenile Great Northern Diver at the Old Brick Dock.

North Warren: 11 Greater White-fronted Geese and at least one Water Pipit.

Gedgrave: five Bean Geese and a Hen Harrier.

Boyton: Waxwings heard flying south over.

Hollesley Marsh: two Cattle Egrets and a Water Pipit.

Felixstowe: a Yellow-browed Warbler and three Firecrests at The Grove.

Raydon: a Dartford Warbler and two Ravens at the disused airfield.

December 10th

Dunwich: Nine Snow Buntings north of the beach car park and a Merlin along the approach road to the Heath.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on the Scrape.

Hollesley Marsh: two Cattle Egrets and three Greater White-fronted Geese.

Landguard: two Snow Buntings at the Point.

Lackford Lakes: the GREEN-WINGED TEAL on the Slough.

Little Livermere: at least five Tree Sparrows in a private garden.

Mildenhall: the Yellow-browed Warbler still present near the cricket club.

December 9th

​Landguard: two Snow Buntings at the Point.

Alton Water: two Scaup between the Tattingstone Wonder and Lemons Hill Bridge.​​

December 8th

Pakefield: five plus Shore Larks and 50+ Snow Buntings at the north end of the beach.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on the Scrape.

Orford: a Firecrest in the churchyard.

Hollesley Marsh: two Cattle Egrets.

December 7th

Pakefield: six Shore Larks and 65+ Snow Buntings opposite the coastwatch lighthouse.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape and a Water Pipit on West Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: 36 Greater White-fronted Geese plus a Great Northern Diver on the River Alde along the western edge. 

Bawdsey Quay: two Firecrests in the picnic site.

Ramsholt: a Whooper Swan up river from Lodge Marsh.

December 6th

Kessingland: eight Shore Larks and 45+ Snow Buntings still present on the beach.

Benacre: the two TWITE again on the cliff face near the air raid shelter.

Blythburgh: four Cattle Egrets with cows between A1095 and the estuary, viewed from the White Hart pub.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

Thorpeness: a female Long-tailed Duck south offshore.

North Warren: 20 Greater White-fronted Geese south and two adult Caspian Gulls.

Woodbridge: two Cattle Egrets again on Kingston Marsh.

December 5th

Kessingland: 50+ Snow Buntings still present at the north end of the beach.

Benacre: the two TWITE on the beach by the pillbox, between Beach Farm and the Broad.

Walberswick: a single FAN-TAILED WARBLER still present south of the beach huts.

Dunwich: 20+ Snow Buntings north of the beach car park.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT still on East Scrape.

North Warren: 14 Greater White-fronted Geese and 2+ Water Pipits.

Boyton Marsh: eight Greater White-fronted Geese present.

Hollesley Marsh: three Cattle Egrets.

Upper Hollesley Common: a Raven.

Woodbridge: two Cattle Egrets again on Kingston Marsh.

Felixstowe Ferry: the Yellow-browed Warbler again along the Tomline Wall.

Thetford: Jack Snipe at Nunnery Lakes.

December 4th

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT from North Hide plus a Water Pipit in front of Island Mere. 23 Goosanders came in to roost on East Scrape plus at least seven Caspian Gulls and two Yellow-legged Gulls.

Felixstowe Ferry: the Yellow-browed Warbler again along the Tomline Wall.

Landguard: two Snow Buntings at the Point.

Rougham: Black Redstart at Rough Tower Avenue, Rougham Airfield.

December 3rd

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT again on East Scrape plus two Water Pipits

Walberswick: 10 Snow Buntings.

Dunwich: three Cranes low south over Dingle before landing.

Felixstowe Ferry: the Yellow-browed Warbler again along the Tomline Wall.

 

December 2nd

Benacre: the two TWITE on cliffs between Beach Farm and the Broad, on cliff face 100m south of the pillbox in the sea.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT again on East Scrape.

Boyton Marsh: a female Hen Harrier again.

Hollesley Marsh: two Cattle Egrets.

Woodbridge: two Cattle Egrets again on Kingston Marsh.

Felixstowe Ferry: the Yellow-browed Warbler again along the Tomline Wall.

December 1st

Kessingland: 6+ Shore Larks still present at the north end of the beach.

Benacre: Snow Bunting on cliffs between Beach Farm and the Broad.

Minsmere: the TEMMINCK'S STINT on East Scrape.

Lackford Lakes: the GREEN-WINGED TEAL in front of Paul's Hide.​
