February 23rd

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER in bushes by the south-west corner  of Denes Oval tennis courts.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh. The Tundra Bean Goose and four Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh plus a male Hen Harrier and an adult Caspian Gull.

Covehithe Broad: two Tundra Bean Geese.

Minsmere: a Spoonbill over.

Eastbridge: two Ravens over.

Levington: two Firecrests by the sewage works entrance.

February 22nd

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER again present at Sparrow's Nest Gardens.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh. The Tundra Bean Goose and four Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh plus a male Hen Harrier to the south of Share Marsh.

Minsmere: singles of Caspian Gull and Yellow-legged Gull plus a Whooper Swan. Two Cranes dropped in towards Eastbridge.

North Warren: c.60 Greater White-fronted Geese.

Aldeburgh Marsh: 192 Greater White-fronted Geese.

Trimley Marsh: a Water Pipit again.

Trimley Retreat: a Jack Snipe.

Cattawade: a Ruddy Shelduck on the lagoons looking from Constable Café at East Bergholt plus a Water Pipit.

February 21st

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh.

Worlingham Marsh: a male Hen Harrier.

Walberswick: FAN-TAILED WARBLER again noted on Corporation Marsh.

North Warren: c.780 Greater White-fronted Geese and a Spoonbill.

Snape: two Cranes flying north-west over the village.

Gedgrave Marsh: c.100 Greater White-fronted Geese.

 

February 20th

Belton Marsh: 15 Tundra Bean Geese at New Road.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh. The Tundra Bean Goose and five Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh.

Southwold: a Long-tailed Duck flying south offshore.

Walberswick: 2+ FAN-TAILED WARBLERS still present on Corporation Marsh and a Short-eared Owl.

North Warren: Spoonbill on South Marsh.

Hollesley Marsh: a Cattle Egret still.

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still along the back beach.

Stour Estuary: a Great Northern Diver at Harkstead.

Lakenheath Fen: Greater White-fronted Goose in Humphrey's Paddock, viewable from Joist Fen.

February 19th

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh. The Tundra Bean Goose and five Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh.

Trimley Marsh: 30 Greater White-fronted Geese from the viewing platform.

Stour Estuary: a Great Northern Diver at Erwarton and a Slavonian Grebe in Holbrook Bay.

Lakenheath Fen: four Whooper Swans.

 

February 18th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still present.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh plus a GREEN-WINGED TEAL. Both male and female Hen Harrier over Share Marsh.​

Minsmere: Firecrest along the rhododendron tunnel.

North Warren: Spoonbill on North Marsh.

Lakenheath Fen: five Whooper Swans, two Cranes and a Raven.

February 17th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still present.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh plus two Caspian Gulls. The Tundra Bean Goose and four Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh.​

Kessingland: four Shore Larks present on the beach opposite The Hollies. A Black Redstart just south of the Sailors Home pub and later near Benacre Sluice.

Minsmere: a redhead Smew on East Scrape plus two Ravens.

Snape: two Cranes flying just south of Snape Maltings.

Hollesley Marsh: a Cattle Egret still.

Falkenham Creek: Whooper Swan in fields opposite Ramsholt.

February 16th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still present.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh plus a Tundra Bean Goose and four Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh.​

Kessingland: 1+ Shore Lark and four Snow Buntings opposite Pakefield coast watch.

Walberswick: three FAN-TAILED WARBLERS still present on Corporation Marsh c.1 mile south-west of the harbour.

Minsmere: Bewick's Swans and the Whooper Swan again present.

Hollesley Marsh: c.250 Greater White-fronted Geese plus a Cattle Egret still. ​

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still along the back beach.

February 15th

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh plus a Tundra Bean Goose and four Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh.

Boyton Marsh: seven Tundra Bean Geese again on the sugar beet field north of Banters Barn.

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still along the back beach.​

February 14th

Fritton Lake: 33 Tundra Bean Geese over north.

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still present.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh plus a Tundra Bean Goose and c.250 Greater White-fronted Geese circled and headed north.

Walberswick: one FAN-TAILED WARBLER still present on Corporation Marsh plus a Water Pipit.

Minsmere: seven Tundra Bean Geese on the South Levels plus four Bewick's Swans and a Whooper Swan. A drake Scaup on East Scrape.

North Warren: a Spoonbill and 430 Greater White-fronted Geese on North Marsh.

Hollesley Marsh: c.250 Greater White-fronted Geese, two Bewick's Swans flew off high north towards Orfordness plus a Cattle Egret still. A Short-eared Owl flew in off along the footpath to the north.

Suffolk Water Park: the Pink-footed Goose again present.

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still present plus eight Purple Sandpipers at Ness Point.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh.

Boyton Marsh: 2Tundra Bean Geese and two Pink-footed Geese in the harvested sugar beet field behind Banters Barn.

February 12th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still at the Denes Oval and at Sparrow's Nest Gardens.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh plus a first-winter Caspian GullFour Greater White-fronted Geese on Share Marsh.

Thorpeness Meare: a Caspian Gull.

North Warren: three Spoonbills on South Marsh.

Hollesley Marsh: c.150 Greater White-fronted Geese, a Tundra Bean Goose Cattle Egret, and two Ravens.

February 11th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still at the Denes Oval and at Sparrow's Nest Gardens. A single Purple Sandpiper at Ness Point.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh.

Kessingland: three Shore Larks on the beach opposite The Hollies.

Minsmere: a Spoonbill on East Scrape and six Caspian Gulls plus 35 Goosanders into roost on East Scrape.

North Warren: two Spoonbills on South Marsh.

Aldeburgh: a Black-necked Grebe on the sea drifting north.

Boyton Marsh: 25 Tundra Bean Geese still present.

Hollesley Marsh: a Cattle Egret.

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still along the back beach.

February 10th

Gorleston: three Scaup flew south offshore.

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still at the Denes Oval and at Sparrow's Nest Gardens.

Carlton Marsh: the male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh

Kessingland: four Shore Larks between the pillbox and Pakefield coast watch plus 13 Snow Buntings close by.

Walberswick: 18 Snow Buntings on the beach.

Boyton Marsh: nine Tundra Bean Geese on the sugar beet field behind Banters Barn.

Hollesley Marsh: a Slavonian Grebe in front of the screen plus a Cattle Egret in fields towards Warren Hill.

Elmswell: six Ravens at Clayfields with 12 going to roost on the Elmswell to Wetherden road, .

Little Livermere: ten Tree Sparrows.

Livermere Lake: a Caspian Gull on Broadwater.

February 9th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still at the Denes Oval and at Sparrow's Nest Gardens.

Carlton Marsh: a male AMERICAN WIGEON still on Peto's Marsh plus a Tundra Bean Goose and two Caspian Gulls.

Kessingland: one Shore Lark east of the pool near the coast watch plus around 20 Snow Buntings just south on the shingle.

Benacre Broad: a male Snow Bunting.

Minsmere: at least 20 Caspian Gulls and two Yellow-legged Gulls plus 32 Goosanders into roost on East Scrape.

Gedgrave Marsh: Short-eared Owl in the field opposite the pumping station.

Boyton Marsh: 32+ Tundra Bean Geese and two Pink-footed Geese on the sugar beet field behind Banters Barn plus 800+ Greater White-fronted Geese on the marshes.

February 8th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still at the Denes Oval plus a Firecrest.

Carlton Marsh: a male AMERICAN WIGEON (or hybrid) on Peto's Marsh.

Minsmere: a Long-tailed Duck flew north offshore. Three Whooper Swans from North Hide and a Lapland Bunting south along the dunes.

Boyton Marsh: 34 Tundra Bean Geese on sugar beet field behind Banters Barn plus 803 Greater White-fronted Geese on the marshes.

Shingle Street: a Snow Bunting.

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still present.

Alton Water: four Scaup (3f, 1 first-winter m) off the Wonder car park.

February 7th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still at the Denes Oval and in the north-east corner of Sparrow's Nest Gardens.

Carlton Marsh: male and female Hen Harrier over Share Marsh. Three Cattle Egrets into roost.

Minsmere: four Bewick's Swans in front of North Hide, a Water Pipit from West Hide and two Goosanders. Three Whooper Swans at Island Mere and a Firecrest near the Rhododendron tunnel.

Bawdsey: four Purple Sandpipers at East Lane on the London Clay.

February 6th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER still at the Denes Oval.

Kessingland: four Shore Larks on the east side of the pool below the Coastguard lookout.

Ellough: two Grey Partridges again in a field opposite PCE Automation.

Boyton Marsh: 16 Tundra Bean Geese on ploughed fields north of the entrance track.

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still present.

February 5th

Lowestoft: the HUME'S WARBLER in bushes north of Denes Oval tennis courts. 140 Pink-footed Geese flew south over North Denes.

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still present.

February 4th

Lowestoft: a HUME'S WARBLER along Flycatcher Alley and Denes Oval.

Minsmere: two Whooper Swans and four Bewick's Swans in front of West Hide and two Cranes on the South Levels.

Boyton Marsh: 16 Tundra Bean Geese by Boyton Hall Farm before flying towards Boyton Marsh, having earlier flown in from Hollesley.

Bawdsey: four Purple Sandpipers at East Lane.

Orwell Estuary: the Great Northern Diver off Loompit Lake in Thorpe Bay.

Alton Water: four Scaup (3f, 1 first-winter m) off the Wonder car park.

 

February 3rd

Boyton Marsh: 22 Tundra Bean Geese that flew south towards Hollesley.

Livermere: a Pink-footed Goose in a harvested beet field just north of Livermere Lake.

 

February 2nd

Lowestoft: eight Purple Sandpipers on sea defences north of Ness Point.

Ellough: two Grey Partridges in a field opposite PCE Automation.

Minsmere: three Whooper Swans in front of West Hide.

Iken: a Cattle Egret at Yarn Hill Farm.

Landguard: a Little Gull flew north and the three Snow Buntings still present.

Trimley Marsh: two Tundra Bean Geese and 25 Greater White-fronted Geese.

 

February 1st

Carlton Marsh: eight Cattle Egrets at dusk.

North Cove: two Cranes flew south then over Barnby.

Ellough: Grey Partridge in a field opposite PCE Automation.

Kessingland: four Shore Larks still present by the shorepools opposite the coastguards.

Minsmere: two Firecrests near the rhododendron tunnel.

Hollesley Marsh: a Cattle Egret.

Landguard: the three Snow Buntings still along the back beach.

Trimley Marsh: adult Little Gull on the winter flood, two Tundra Bean Geese, 60 Greater White-fronted Geese and a Water Pipit.​
