July 31st

Carlton Marsh: a Wood Sandpiper from North Hide, Peto's Marsh.

Walberswick: a juvenile unringed Caspian Gull at the harbour.

Sizewell: an adult SABINE'S GULL briefly at the outfall before heading south plus five Caspian Gulls (3 juvs and 2 2CY) and an adult Little Gull.

Aldeburgh Marsh: four Ruddy Shelduck and five Wood Sandpipers.

Hazlewood Marsh: an adult Curlew Sandpiper.

Boyton Marsh: the BLACK STORK again showing well.

Ramsholt: two Wood Sandpipers.

Pipps Ford: a Wood Sandpiper.

Combs: the QUAIL calling Boyton Hall again.

 

July 30th

Southwold: a colour-ringed juvenile Caspian Gull at the harbour mouth.

Hen Reedbeds: three Ravens over the pine belt west of Wolsey Creek.

Dunwich: seven Spoonbills on pools behind Dunwich beach.

Minsmere: 13 Little Gulls on East Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: four Ruddy Shelduck, five Wood Sandpipers, four Spoonbills and a juvenile limosa Black-tailed Godwit.

Boyton Marsh: the BLACK STORK again showing well in a dyke between Hollesley and Boyton plus a Spoonbill.

Combs: a QUAIL calling Boyton Hall.

July 29th

Aldeburgh Marsh: four Ruddy Shelduck.

Boyton Marsh: the BLACK STORK again showing well in a dyke between Hollesley and Boyton.

Landguard: three juvenile Black Redstarts around the fort and Obs.

Pipps Ford: a Wood Sandpiper again present.

July 28th

Aldeburgh Marsh: thee Wood Sandpipers, a Spoonbill, a Little Ringed Plover and four Ruddy Shelduck.

Boyton Marsh: the BLACK STORK again showing well in a dyke between Hollesley and Boyton. A HONEY-BUZZARD flew over the track inland of Banters Barn.

Pipps Ford: a Wood Sandpiper and an adult Caspian Gull.

July 27th

Walberswick: a juvenile Caspian Gull at the harbour.

Minsmere: a Wood Sandpiper on West Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: thee Wood Sandpipers, ten Spoonbills, a Curlew Sandpiper and four Ruddy Shelduck.

Boyton Marsh: the BLACK STORK again between Hollesley and Boyton. Later seen drifting north over Orfordness then at Gedgrave Marsh before heading back to Boyton and showed well in a dyke.

July 26th

Minsmere: a BEE-EATER calling over Scott's Hall.

Aldeburgh: a HONEY-BUZZARD high south.

Orfordness: the BLACK STORK dropped onto the site. A pale HONEY-BUZZARD reported south of the site.

Hollesley: the BLACK STORK again between Hollesley and Boyton. Later seen drifting north.

Pipps Ford: a Wood Sandpiper.

July 25th

Benacre Broad: a ROSEATE TERN, two juvenile limosa Black-tailed Godwits, a Spoonbill and a juvenile Arctic Tern.

Minsmere: a Cattle Egret from South Hide.

Aldeburgh Marsh: six Wood Sandpipers and four Ruddy Shelduck.

Hazlewood Marsh: ten Spoonbills.

Hollesley: the BLACK STORK again reported in the area.

Ramsholt: a Wood Sandpiper on Lodge Marsh.

July 24th

Lowestoft: a ROSEATE TERN at North Beach.

Carlton Marsh: a Cattle Egret on Share Marsh.

Minsmere: two Cattle Egrets in off the sea onto West Scrape, two HONEY-BUZZARDS heading north over the scrape, that then drifted south plus two Curlew Sandpipers and a Wood Sandpiper on South Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: two Wood Sandpipers, a Stone-curlew and four Ruddy Shelduck.

July 23rd

Carlton Marsh: seven Wood Sandpiper on the original scrape.

Kessingland: a Ruddy Shelduck on the beach, that flew north, then back south past the sluice.

Minsmere: a ROSEATE TERN on South Scrape plus two Garganey and 12 Little Gulls on East Scrape.

Boyton Marsh: the BLACK STORK in a field by Boyton Hall Farm, it flew off south but returned then later flew over Orfordness.

July 22nd

Carlton Marsh: a Wood Sandpiper on Peto's Marsh.

Minsmere: four Wood Sandpipers on West Scrape.

Boyton Marsh: the BLACK STORK flew from Boyton Hall Farm to the north-east corner of the marshes.

Hollesley Marsh: a BLACK STORK flew towards Boyton.

Bawdsey: a female Black Redstart on sea defences by the car park.

​

July 21st

Landguard: a pale phase Arctic Skua flew north.

Shelley: a Wood Sandpiper on Giffords Flash.

Sudbury: a ringtail MONTAGU'S HARRIER flew north-east over the town.

 

July 20th

Carlton Marsh: a Wood Sandpiper on a pool along Share Marsh.

Hen Reedbeds: Wood Sandpiper.

Minsmere: a Black Tern on South Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: four Wood Sandpipers.

Boyton Marsh: a Wood Sandpiper on the flash by Banters Barn.

July 19th

Lowestoft: a colour-ringed Caspian Gull on the sea north off Ness Point.

Carlton Marsh: two Wood Sandpipers.

Benacre Broad: a Curlew Sandpiper and a juvenile limosa Black-tailed Godwit.

Hen Reedbeds: Wood Sandpiper.

Minsmere: a Black Tern on South Scrape and a Wood Sandpiper on East Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: five Wood Sandpipers.

 

July 18th

Hen Reedbeds: two Spoonbills and a Wood Sandpiper on the pools.

Minsmere: four Little Gulls on East Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: three Wood Sandpipers on the south-west pools.

Orwell Estuary: a Little Gull at the mouth of the River Orwell.

July 17th

Carlton Marsh: a Cattle Egret on Peto's Marsh.

Benacre Broad: a Spoonbill and an adult Arctic Tern.

Aldeburgh Marsh: a Wood Sandpiper.

July 16th

Minsmere: a NIGHT HERON flew south of Scott's Hall Lane.

Aldeburgh Marsh: a Wood Sandpipers and three Spoonbills.

​

July 15th

Minsmere: a ROSEATE TERN on the beach that flew to the Scrape. A Wood Sandpiper and three Little Gulls on East Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: three Wood Sandpipers.

Hazlewood Marsh: an Osprey, two Cranes overhead and eight Spoonbills.

July 14th

Minsmere: two Curlew Sandpipers plus a Wood Sandpiper on South Scrape. An Arctic Tern on East Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: four Wood Sandpipers.

Hazlewood Marsh: five Spoonbills.

​

July 13th

Minsmere: an adult Arctic Tern on South Scrape plus a summer-plumaged Curlew Sandpiper. Five Little Gulls on East Scrape.

North Warren: two Wood Sandpipers on South Marsh.

Haughley: a Raven over Plashwood Road.

July 12th

Hollesley Marsh: 15 Spoonbills on the scrape.

July 11th

Minsmere: a first-summer Arctic Tern on South Scrape.

Upper Hollesley Common: three QUAILS flushed from a track.

July 10th

Minsmere: three ROSEATE TERNS on South Scrape.

July 9th

Aldeburgh Marsh: the COLLARED PRATINCOLE again present plus three Spoonbills.

July 8th

Minsmere: a ROSEATE TERN again on South Scrape.

Aldeburgh Marsh: the COLLARED PRATINCOLE again present during the day.

Benacre Broad: three Spoonbills.

Aldeburgh Marsh: a COLLARED PRATINCOLE on the main scrape in the middle of the marsh.

Melton: a Spoonbill on the River Deben off the boat yard.

July 6th

Lowestoft: a BEE-EATER south along Gunton Cliff and a Black Redstart south of the wind turbine at Ness Point.

July 5th

Minsmere: two ROSEATE TERNS on South Scrape.

Lakenheath Fen: the Glossy Ibis again on Gary's Pool.

July 4th

Carlton Marsh: a PURPLE HERON from the Octagon Hide looking towards the river.

Dunwich: four Spoonbills on a a shore pool 2km north of the beach car park.

Ramsholt: an immature Little Gull on Ramsholt Lodge Marsh.

Lakenheath Fen: the Glossy Ibis on Gary's Pool plus a Wood Sandpiper on the Wash.

July 3rd

Hollesley Marsh: nine Spoonbills.

Landguard: two Black Redstarts.

Ixworth: a Raven over.

Lakenheath Fen: the Glossy Ibis on Gary's Pool plus a singing Quail.

July 2nd

Minsmere: a ROSEATE TERN again on South Scrape.

Lakenheath Fen: the Glossy Ibis on Hockwold Washes.

July 1st

Minsmere: a first-summer Arctic Tern on South Scrape and a Manx Shearwater south offshore.

Ufford: a HOOPOE north-east of the village on a verge by the B1438 at north-west end of a dog walking field.

Lakenheath Fen: a Glossy Ibis on Gary's Pool.
