November 30th

Carlton Marsh: Siberian Chiffchaff at Jensen's Island, near the mooring hide.

Sotterley: two Hawfinches near the church.

Southwold: four Purple Sandpipers on northern groynes.

Walberswick: a ringtail Hen Harrier at Hoist Covert by the wind pump.

Dingle Marsh: 32+ Snow Buntings on the beach between Walberswick and Dunwich.

Thorpeness: three Velvet Scoters offshore from the OCP.

North Warren: 22 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Hazlewood Marsh: the TWITE again present.

Orford: three Waxwings flew over heading west.

Hollesley Marsh: seven Eurasian White-fronted Geese and two Caspian Gulls (3CY and 1CY).

Falkenham Marshes: seven Corn Buntings at Kingsfleet.

Trimley Marshes: the Velvet Scoter still on the Orwell on the Shotley side.

November 29th

Benacre: six Whooper Swans on the Broad.

Dingle Marsh: 40 Snow Buntings on the beach between Walberswick and Dunwich.

North Warren: 20 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Aldeburgh: a Purple Sandpiper on the River Hundred outfall.

Trimley Marshes: the Velvet Scoter still on the Orwell.

 

November 28th

Breydon: two Glossy Ibises at Breydon South Wall.

Carlton Marsh: a possible Siberian Chiffchaff just west of the visitor centre.

Slaughden: a Merlin and a  Purple Sandpiper.

Hazlewood Marsh: the TWITE again present 100m south of the kissing gate.

Melton: seven Waxwings flew over the Deben at Melton heading towards Woodbridge.

Trimley Marshes: Velvet Scoter on the Orwell.

Shotley: Black-throated Diver off the marina looking towards the mouth of the Orwell.

November 27th

Southwold: two Little Auks north offshore and two Purple Sandpipers at the north end of the sea wall.

Thorpeness: a Velvet Scoter offshore from the OCP.

Hazlewood Marsh: the TWITE again present.

Levington: a Water Pipit at the Creek.

 

November 26th

Lowestoft: six Purple Sandpipers c.400m north of Ness Point.

Kessingland: two Shore Larks on the beach just south of the Sailors Home pub.

Benacre: Purple Sandpiper at the sluice.

Dingle Marsh: c.35 Snow Buntings feeding on the beach between Walberswick and Dunwich plus a ringtail Hen Harrier hunting.

Sizewell: two Bewick's Swans in a field.

Hazlewood Marsh: a TWITE again present near the kissing gate.

Botany Marsh: the HOODED CROW again present.

Hollesley Marsh: 10 Eurasian White-fronted Geese again.

Bawdsey: six Purple Sandpipers feeding on the exposed clay south of the martello at East Lane.

Bawdsey Quay: six Firecrests in the area, including in the picnic site and the tamarisks to the south. Brambling and Raven at Bawdsey Manor. A Short-eared Owl over Bawdsey Marsh.

Landguard: two Purple Sandpipers on the jetty.

 

November 25th

Walberswick: c.40 Snow Buntings feeding on the beach between Walberswick and Dunwich early afternoon.

Minsmere: c.45 Snow Buntings south down the coast mid-morning.

Thorpeness: six Goosanders (3m, 3f) on the Meare.

North Warren: two Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Hazlewood Marsh: a TWITE near the reserve entrance.

Botany Marsh: the HOODED CROW again present.

Hollesley Marsh: a Spoonbill in flight towards Havergate Island. 10 Eurasian White-fronted Geese viewed from the river wall and two Whooper Swans on the scrape.

 

November 24th

Kessingland: the Shore Lark in front of the caravan park.

Benacre: Purple Sandpiper at the sluice.

Thorpeness: two Velvet Scoters south offshore.

Botany Marsh: the HOODED CROW again present.

Landguard: Black-throated Diver on the sea before flying further out to sea.

 

November 23rd

Minsmere: a Little Auk on the sea.

Landguard: Velvet Scoter on south.

 

November 22nd

Kessingland: the large flock of Snow Buntings by the pools and the Shore Lark north of Benacre sluice.

Minsmere: a 1CY Pink-footed Goose from North Hide, two Whooper Swans on Island Mere and a Water Pipit in front of Bittern Hide. 

Sizewell: a 2CY Glaucous Gull offshore at 14:20.

Thorpeness: Glaucous Gull south offshore at 11:40 plus a Great Northern Diver.

 

November 21st

Kessingland: an Osprey south along the beach also a Short-eared Owl, Woodcock and 14 Snow Buntings. A Shore Lark towards Benacre sluice.

Benacre: Little Auk north past the sluice. An Osprey south over Beach Farm, then the Broad.

Sotterley: two Hawfinches around the church.

Minsmere: a drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL on East Scrape, two Little Auks north offshore and a Purple Sandpiper at the sluice.

Sizewell: the HOOPOE reported again opposite the coastguard cottages.

Shingle Street: an Osprey south.

Landguard: Snow Bunting on the beach between the seawatching hide and the jetty.

Levington: a Little Auk up river.

​November 20th

Kessingland: a large flock of Snow Buntings by the pools.

Benacre: Whooper Swan on the Broad.

Sotterley: three Hawfinches between the church and the lake.

Minsmere: the HOOPOE remained in the dunes before moving towards Dunwich Heath. two Bewick's Swans and two Whooper Swans on Island Mere. Three Little Auks north offshore.

Shingle Street: Whooper Swan and Woodcock. 

 

November 19th

Gorleston: Black-throated Diver south close in past the pier.

Minsmere: the HOOPOE remained in the dunes.

Botany Marsh: a HOODED CROW with corvids that also flew into pig fields.

November 18th

Kessingland: 35 Snow Buntings by Kessingland pools.

Minsmere: the HOOPOE moved up the coast from Sizewell mid-morning and remained in the dunes.

Sizewell: the HOOPOE still present in the morning.

Hollesley Marsh: a Short-eared Owl by the sluice and a Water Pipit and a Jack Snipe on Simpson's Saltings.

Landguard: RED-RUMPED SWALLOW hanging around the Obs.

 

November 17th

Kessingland: 30+ Snow Buntings by Kessingland pools and a Short-eared Owl.

Sotterley: a Hawfinch west of the church at Sotterley Park.

Minsmere: two Whooper Swans on East Scrape and a Water Pipit on West Scrape.

Sizewell: the HOOPOE still present 300 yards south of Sizewell A in dunes below the caravans. A Ring Ouzel by Sizewell Hall and a Snow Bunting.

Ampton: two ringtail Hen Harriers quartering fields just north of Ampton.

 

November 16th

Kessingland: 12 Snow Buntings on north beach below Crazy Mary's Hole.

Benacre: two Snow Buntings between Beach Farm and the Broad.

Sizewell: a HOOPOE in gardens west of Sizewell Hall.

Thorpeness: the HOOPOE was relocated on the beach just north of the OCP. The noted around the area and towards Sizewell.

Orford: a Firecrest west of the castle, two Hawfinches west and 14 Eurasian White-fronted Geese feeding near the sewage works.

Hollesley Marsh: a SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF in scrub along the river wall.

Framsden: a Hawfinch.

 

November 15th

Breydon South Wall: an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER calling and in flight by Humberstone Farm.

Minsmere: two Whooper Swans on East Scrape and a Slavonian Grebe on the sea.

Thorpeness: a Great Northern Diver and a Pomarine Skua off the OCP.

Alde Estuary: two Hawfinches.

Landguard: three Purple Sandpipers at the point.

 

November 14th

Southwold: six Purple Sandpipers north of the pier.

Walberswick: a Black Redstart still active around the green.

Minsmere: 4+ Water Pipits and Jack Snipe on West Scrape. Two Whooper Swans on Island Mere and a Black-necked Grebe on the sea.

Alde Estuary: two Spoonbills and two Ravens.

Bawdsey: three adult Bewick's Swans in off at East Lane.

Lackford Lakes: a Spoonbill.

 

November 13th

Walberswick: two Black Redstarts on the north side of the green.

Alde Estuary: 25 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Orford: a male Black Redstart at Chantry Meadow.

Landguard: two Purple Sandpipers and a Merlin in off.

Holbrook Bay: Bewick's Swan and a Black-necked Grebe on the Stour, viewed looking south from the east side of Holbrook Creek.

 

November 12th

Southwold: offshore, seven Little Gulls north, a Pomarine Skua north, an adult SABINE'S GULL north and a Sooty Shearwater north.

Walberswick: 12 Snow Buntings south of the beach car park.

Minsmere: a Snow Bunting on the beach near the end of the North Wall. A Water Pipit on West Scrape.

 

November 11th

Benacre: four Snow Buntings at the Broad.

Walberswick: a Black Redstart on the north side of the green.

Dingle Marsh: a Firecrest in a hedge where the double gates views the pony pool.

Minsmere: a Snow Bunting still on the beach. Curlew Sandpiper and Water Pipit on West Scrape.

North Warren: four Pink-footed Geese on North Marsh.

Hollesley Marsh: 17 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on the scrape.

Landguard: a Snow Bunting flew to the point.

Trimley Marsh: the AMUR STONECHAT still present.

 

November 10th

Dingle Marsh: a Jack Snipe on the shore pools.

Minsmere: at least three Water Pipits from North hide, Jack Snipe and two Water Pipits on West Scrape and a Black-necked Grebe on Island Mere.

Landguard: one Snow Bunting near the seawatch hide and two Purple Sandpipers at the point.

Trimley Marsh: the AMUR STONECHAT still present on the reserve plus a juvenile ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD reported over the reserve towards Shotley. Three Cattle Egrets flew past the Stonechat spot.

Shotley: six Cattle Egrets on Shotley Marshes.

Swilland: a Hawfinch.

November 9th

Kessingland: six Snow Buntings on north beach between The Hollies and Crazy Mary's Hole.

Minsmere: a Grey Phalarope again present, a Slavonian Grebe on the sea and a Snow Bunting north of the sluice.

Boyton Marsh: a Merlin.

Landguard: three Purple Sandpipers at the point.

Trimley Marsh: the AMUR STONECHAT still present on the reserve plus a Black Redstart.

November 8th

Lowestoft: a Black Redstart at Ness Point.

Minsmere: a Grey Phalarope in the surf 100m north of the Sluice and a Snow Bunting on the beach to the south.

Trimley Marsh: the AMUR STONECHAT still present on the reserve plus four Pink-footed Geese over.

Shotley: Black-throated Diver and a Slavonian Grebe on the Stour.

 

November 7th

Bungay: HOOPOE flew over Rose Hall Gardens.

Eastern Bavents: a Yellow-browed Warbler at western end of footpath to Reydon.

Trimley Marsh: the AMUR STONECHAT still present on the reserve.

Ipswich: two Ravens over Stoke Park Drive towards Bobbits Lane Meadow.

 

November 6th

Corton: the female SERIN still at the old sewage works. Two Velvet Scoters on the sea off Radar Lodge.

Kessingland: five Snow Buntings on the beach opposite the Yellow House.

Benacre: a female SERIN in the hedgerow at the top of the track by the entrance to Beach Farm.

Dingle Marsh: a Yellow-browed Warbler in the wood just south of Dingle Little Hill.

Slaughden: Purple Sandpiper.

Boyton Marsh: three Hawfinches briefly then flew north-east.

Trimley Marsh: the AMUR STONECHAT still present on the reserve plus eight Cattle Egrets and three Black Redstarts.

November 5th

Corton: a female SERIN on the western edge of the old sewage works.

Southwold: a female/first-winter Black Redstart by the harbour mouth plus a Snow Bunting.

Slaughden: Purple Sandpiper.

Orford: two Black Redstarts at Chantry Meadows.

Gedgrave Marsh: 13 Cattle Egrets present.

Trimley Marsh: the AMUR STONECHAT still present on the reserve. Both Little Stint and Water Pipit on the Summer Flood plus six Hawfinches over.

 

November 4th

Lowestoft: a juvenile Arctic Skua north off Ness Point. and a Pomarine Skua north then landed on the sea.

Southwold: a Pomarine Skua north and three Goosanders (2f, 1m) south.

Dingle Marsh: a Spoonbill on the shore pools.

Westleton Heath: a Ring Ouzel in the deer field.

Minsmere: a Pomarine Skua north, two Jack Snipe and two Water Pipits on West Scrape and a Caspian Gull on East Scrape. Two Firecrests along the rhododendron tunnel.

Hollesley Marsh: 15 Eurasian White-fronted Geese and a ringtail Hen Harrier.

Trimley Marsh: an AMUR STONECHAT still present on the reserve.

Shotley: three Cattle Egrets 300 yards north from Shotley Marina.

 

November 3rd

Kessingland: five Snow Buntings by the shore pools.

Southwold: a Sooty Shearwater north, a Velvet Scoter south and a Pomarine Skua south.

Blythburgh: seven Whooper Swans NNE from footpath at rear of the White Hart Pub.

Dunwich: Short-eared Owl south offshore.

Minsmere: four Velvet Scoters south, a Black-throated Diver offshore and an Arctic Tern north.

Thorpeness: a Velvet Scoter south and a Pomarine Skua south. A single Hawfinch north over the OCP and four Snow Buntings north along the beach.

Boyton: five Hawfinches over.

Hollesley Marsh: Short-eared Owl, an adult Yellow-legged Gull and a first-winter Caspian Gull.

Bawdsey: two Black Redstarts at East Lane.

Bawdsey Quay: two Firecrests at the picnic site.

Trimley Marsh: an EASTERN STONECHAT species present.

Stowmarket: a single Hawfinch over Redwing Drive.

Lackford: a young Spoonbill on the Slough.

 

November 2nd

Carlton Marsh: two Hawfinches north over and a Great Grey Shrike recorded on a trail cam.

Benacre: two Purple Sandpipers on the pillbox by the beach.

Southwold: three Sooty Shearwaters offshore in the morning and five in the afternoon. A Short-eared Owl south offshore and a Leach's Petrel.

Minsmere: two Short-eared Owls and two Sooty Shearwaters north. A Black-throated Diver north and a drake Goosander on the Scrape.

Sizewell: a Sooty Shearwater north and a drake SURF SCOTER close south offshore.

Orfordness: a Black-throated Diver north, a Merlin along the beach and a Short-eared Owl over the Airfield.

Hollesley Marsh: three Shore Larks on the shingle ridge.

Landguard: two Pomarine Skuas, one Arctic Skua, a Short-eared Owl and two Purple Sandpipers.

November 1st

Minsmere: a first-winter Ring Ouzel on the field behind the visitor centre.
